E9: Creating query to pull same data as Inventory/WIP Recon repo

Kim,
Thanks for the reply.

Tim Lester
Hi All,

I’m trying to create a query that pulls the same data as the Inventory/WIP Reconciliation report.

It looks like PartTran is involved but it must be more than that.

For example, I ran this report for just our inventory account, just posted, with a date range of just 3/1/2015.
I was trying to see what transaction were in the “Periodic Posting Process” for this date.
The report showed transactions with dates in February (2/25 to 2/28).
There were no transaction with a date of 3/1.

So now I’m trying to figure out what table/field the 3/1 is being compared to.

In short, does anyone know what tables I will need to pull the same data as the Inv/Wip Recon report?

We have tried to recreate the report and have not been successful because some of the information is in a temporary table that is not created until you run the report.

If you are looking for the transaction type – on the menu screen of the report there is a section called specific transaction type. If you pull that down that field, it will show all the transaction type that appears on the report. Also, attached is a copy of the inventory transactions detail that will explain more on the transaction types. If the attachment does not appear, email me and I will provide it to you.

In short, does anyone know what tables I will need to pull the same data as the Inv/Wip Recon report?

Hi Tim,

My goal is to be able to determine what specific transactions make up the “Periodic Posting Process” entry against our inventory GL.

What kind of information are you looking for? I usually export either the entire report or selected accounts to Excel – Data only and then use formulae, filters and/or pivot tables to get the information that I need.

Subject: [Vantage] E9: Creating query to pull same data as Inventory/WIP Recon report

Hi Joe!

I've uploaded the notes I got from Epicor support on how the WIP report works (Report notes WIP report).  I didn't get as far as creating the report, but it is helpful when you're trying to understand where some of these numbers are coming from.

Jenn

Thanks Jenn.
This will be very helpful.

What I’m looking for similar information behind the “Inventory/WIP Reconciliation” report as opposed to the “Work In Process” report.

Realize this is a year old but this has become a requirement for us, so looking to see what others did. We are SQL, so SQL Queries or Crystal Report rpt files are fine.

Joe - did you ever solve this?

Kim - would love to see what you did for this.

Thanks.

Tim Lester
We started with a BAQ but it was so big it kept crashing. We ended up with an outside contractor writing and SSRS report for us.  Runs much better.  I would recommend SSRS or SQL (maybe web based)

Thanks Kim
