E9 help not working

I am new to this company and the IT guys don’t know what they are doing. The only help I can get is from an external consultant, whom I just can’t call on a whim.

My help screen returns an error If I recall from the past, the fix was simply putting a help file somewhere. Where can I find a help file, and what path do I need to put it in?

We jumped from V8 to E10, so I’m not exactly sure where it would be in E9. But snoop around the Company Maintenance and Company Config settings, and you’ll find a field to put in the path to the Help files. There’s a good chance the help system is already on your server. If the system was migrated from one server to another, that filed pointing to the help system path may be point to an old location.

The help system is rarely useful. Occasionally it will have details on a field’s usage and give you some examples. But most of the time it will be something like:

Lead Time: The lead time for the part.

It’s working now and yes I know it’s not always helpful, but sometimes it works for me cuz I know most everything in Epicor and just need a little help at times. I have the big User Guide which helps.
