I’ve never messed with this before, but I am severely disappointed.
I can’t even figure out how to make a simple bar graph sort, nor can I figure out how to save my graph.
Anyone use this and make it behave?

I tried a long time ago. It was another one of their “New fancy features” that looks great in a demo, and I was truly excited about it, and then it fell flat. Like so flat. And now they just act like it never existed. Part of the reason I don’t get excited about “new” features. About 1 in 10 actually seem to get finished.

I’d rather learn grow or embed power BI apps in Kinetic forms than spend time understanding EDD for this very reason.
I see the power behind EDD, don’t get me wrong… it’s just another one of those things I would have rather had them spend time fixing kinetic forms or multi-company processes, or the fact that we have to run refresh part quantities and allocations to this very day even though it’s been an issue since vantage…

I have tried and the closest i got was to copy an existing BAQ and build from scratch - you are correct it is horrible.

I’ve opened it by accident a few times and usually just close the tab and move on.
Tried poking around a few times, not terribly intuitive.

There’s no love left for EDD. I’m surprised it’s not been removed and deprecated.

It’s still being developed and enhanced to provide Kinetic parity for Classic dashboards.

I’m pretty sure they gambling on “If we wait long enough, AI will be good enough to finish it for us”. Time will tell though.

Creating a Gauge View was added in 2025.1 and at one point there were plans to make it API v2 compatible. That’s all I know.
I use it more for basic ‘health checks’ visuals than deep data analysis.

EDD has so much potential, but it feels like it is still made for E10 and not Kinetic. I made simple ones a few months ago and my company loved it. It was such a pain to set up though and I am scared to touch it now because it is so easily broken. The kinetic application studio integration with EDD is pretty bad too, I can’t even filter by two dates, it only accepts one date.
