The only special thing I do is the physical inventory count. The rest of my
closing procedures are the same, with the exception of a few extra accruals.

Why would you want to purge out old data? One of the biggest strengths of
the system is the history and the ease of looking at it. If your database
is too large I'd consider upgrading your servers.

This is our first year ending using Vantage. I am looking for
suggestions/procedures that are required to close out the year and
purge old data out of the system. Also what would be the recommended
practice to backup the data for retrival should it be required.
