Epicor 2021.1 SQL Windows in-place upgrade

We have 2021.1 using a SQL Server 2017 installed on Windows 2016 server.
As many of you probably know, Windows 2016 is a massive curse, especially from the standpoint of patching. I was looking to do an in-place Windows 2019 upgrade, and leave SQL 2017/SSRS alone.

Has anyone done this kind of thing and lived to tell? I’ve done other Windows in-place in the past with no issues, but the SSRS component has me a bit worried.

I haven’t done what you are talking about and I definitely wouldn’t do this on a production system without testing it in a sandbox first. Assuming you don’t have the ability to do that I think it would be safer to just spin up a new server, migrate everything over to it, and then shut down the old server. Just my 2 cents since nobody else has answered this.
