When shipping direct from a job, I have assumed the warehouse came from
the output warehouse/bin of the last operation's resource on the job.
Look in resource group maintenance. In our case, the parts on the order
& job are not in our part master, and the job is a single operation
make-to-order and it correctly chooses the warehouse/bin from that
resource (not from the plant default, which is a different warehouse).
Brian.

field question
Rob,
You are correct, thank you for the answer and quick reply.
In this case, though, I still have a problem. Any thoughts are
appreciated. I have two warehouses in the same plant. After blanking out
the warehouse record in the plant file, I was hoping the default
warehouse from the part master would populate in the shipment. It came
over blank. Of course it is demanding a warehouse, even though it is
shipping direct from a job. I get an error
I get the following error: "a valid WIP warehouse is reqd".
What is a WIP warehouse? Why do I need a warehouse if I ship direct from
a job?
