Im wondering if any of you have the same problems as us. I am writing this email whilst I am waiting for our Epicor server to restart for the 3rd time in the last month.
We are currently on 9.04.503B, Progress, 64Bit Sever 2003.
Every 7-10 days, we have to either totally stop all of the App Servers and DB or totally restart the server as Epicor 9 grinds to a stand still. Sometimes it gets so bad, it won't allow people to log in.
After a reboot it is fine, and the speed improves significantly.
We have now started stopping and starting the Apps during the night in an attempt to speed things up.
Before we started scheduling the Apps to stop and start, we used to have to restart (almost on cue) the server every 7 days.
After scheduling the Apps to stop and start every night, we now have to restart the server every 10 days (almost on cue).
There is nothing else installed on the server.
The only observation that I have made is the PF Usage monitor when the server has been rebooted and users are logged is approximately 3GB.
When it starts going slow, it peak at approx. 5.9GB.
This is causing us major problems because of down-time and slow-time (things taking much longer than they should).
Does anyone else have similar problems?
If so, what have you done to try and rectify them and it the alterations make any difference in speed?
