Epicor Kinetic Innovation Moves to the Cloud: On-Premises Development Ends in 2028

I know this isn’t going to change the outcome, because this really isn’t a debate. The final destination has been chosen. But, since the discussion is currently on support topics, to support @Banderson’s point, I wanted to bring this one back up and at least voice this as a concern for all of us. I’m a cloud customer, but the toolset available to on-prem has been a saving grace to many of us, many-a-time… this was just a very recent example:

Resolution:

To summarize: an issue that was brought to support a month before the update was to hit Production environments was not resolved and ultimately won’t be resolved by Epicor until 2026.1 :safe_harbor:. This issue prevented the printing of packing slips, labels, BOLs etc. Pretty crucial documents for companies that want to continue operations.

Had it not been for @josecgomez’s use of on-prem tools (and blessing the community with his solution), would we have been at the mercy of Support and unable to operate for months?

This is why, even for us cloud customers, this is an important issue and the hopeful “middle-ground” solution is crucial to all of us.
