I am new to the report writer and am looking for any and all help I can get. In
Avante it was relatively simple to create columns that defined a Beginning of
Year Balance, QTD or YTD columns, Last Year QTD, YTD and so on.

I am having a block when it comes to Epicor9 and the Financial report writer. I
would assume that it would be in the column definition but cannot see it.

Bob,
If your are talking about the AFR product..... You can define the columns in your Column Set to show Opening Balance and current activity that can be further defined by fiscal periods for specific columns. Do not forget about the Report Parameters either.
If you are talking about the Standard Financial Report Designer within Epicor 9, you would do this using Column Sets and then within the Detail tab, you have fields for Number of Periods and Offset information.

Stephen, Thanks, hopefully I can look at this tomorrow. I am using the Standard Financial Report Writer, it is not very intuitive to me. But then again it could be me... Bob

If your are talking about the AFR product..... You can define the columns in your Column Set to show Opening Balance and current activity that can be further defined by fiscal periods for specific columns. Do not forget about the Report Parameters either.
