I cannot access either epicweb.epicor.com or www.epicor.com from either
my work or home computer.

Both are in the southeastern PA area.

Anyone running Vantage 8.03.409 on Server 2008?
I am being told that it is not supported for 8.03.4xx

I hate to get a new server and then have to downgrade to Server 2003.

Thanks for any input.

[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
I'm running Vantage 8.03.408A Progress on a new Windows 2008 R2 64 bit
Enterprise server. The only limitation I know of is that you can not run the
Progress Explorer tool. I have to run it on another server, but that is no big
deal.

The Progress Explorer Tool most likely will not function on Server 2008
There is a web based management tool that does work, and you can always manage the server from a xp workstation or another 2003 server.

I have a test system running on server 2008 R2 without problem.

The kicker is they say THEY will not support it so if you have issues you are on your own

There is a registry edit that you can do to get the explorer tool to work on 2008.

From EpicWeb:
An unsupported/untested workaround to get Windows Explorer to run on Windows 2008 is to make the following registry entry:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Java VM --> EnableJIT = 0

While this will allow Progress Explorer to function, when run-as Administrator, Progress does not know the impact this change may have on existing installed applications. Progress suggests using this workaround with caution.

We are unable to reach epicor.com through Comcast's network, but have no problem through Frontier and Verizon. I have seen this before where very specific IP's have been unreachable through their system. A tracert to the IP doesn't produce any hops at all.
Maybe that is the issue.

We are also on Comcast.

I will test our backup ISP to see if this is the issue.

Anyone know if NBC, MSNBC, et al, use Oracle or SAP? Maybe Brian Williams
considers Epicor to be "uncivil"?

Same here, we have two WAN connections and through Comcast we can't get to
it, on the other T1 connections we can.

I guess I'll call Comcast too and see what they say.

www.epicor.com now accessible via comcast (SE Penn. anyway)
Still can't get to it here in Minnesota, and my call to Comcast went nowhere, they're saying it's not an issue on their side. Anyone else that called Comcast get anywhere with them?

I called them and they were being ridiculous.

They tested it on their end and when they were not able to connect to
www.epicor.com, they said the problem is with the website. I then told
them that I was connected to the website using my secondary ISP but she
continued to say the website must be down...we went around and around
for about 5 minutes.

I too cannot reach epicor.com from my Comcast account. I called them and they confirmed they cannot get to it from the call center either. They sent it to Level II support with a "priority" designation.

Everyone having problems on Comcast should call and harass them.

This is quite unacceptable.
