We've created parts in the part master for each workcenter. Maintenance can
keep maintenance notes in memo's. Our plan is to set up BOM's for standard
maintenance. For example: Workcenter 1 would have multiple active revs each
for weekly monthly quarterly maintenance activities, and a standard check
list to govern specifics, an additional rev for repairs. When we start
scheduling maintenance activities the Job number will get an "M" at the
beginning. Maintenance will use standard data collection stations to clock
in and out of maintenance jobs. All labor would be indirect to the
workcenter/pn. We have hoists also, the plan is to have a single part
number for hoists then identify the individual hoist number in the memo.
One thought has been to identify the individual hoists as a "rev" but I
think that's overkill.
For tooling we also have individual records for each tool, at
the moment our Process Engineer is a seat of the pants kind of guy and
thinks memory is a good enough record. (duh)

Subject: [Vantage] equipment and maintainace register
I was putting the feelers out with our fellow Vantage users and wonder how
people handle and equipment and maintenance records on tools and also plant
and equipment.
We have quite a few welding machines over head hoist and other equipment we
keep a register of. Separate to this we have a repair register, I was look
for a simple easy way of tie these two together.
Anyone using Vantage to do this?
is there a software package to do this?.
any comment would be welcome and appreciated
