Thanks Thad. I had not seen that .312 was available. I'll check Epicor's site, download and probably install this weekend. They seem to have caught up on several issues lately.

I've checked plenty of parts in without crashing vantage. The resequencing
problem is supposed to be fixed in the .312 patch, if I recall correctly.

Any mention of when Engineering Workbench will be fixed (in 5.20)? No
matter what the benefits if you can't check a part in without crashing
Vantage, can't resequence operations ir re-use an operation number or can't
delete operation sequences then it isn't very usable. The gyrations we must
go through now will make the new hoops seem trivial.

I just spoke to Mark Pladson about the Engineering Workbench, and we pushed
around some ideas to streamline the editing and updating of actual part
records and previous revisions.
He showed me a trick that will make our Document Control department's job
easier. In the Engineering Workbench, if you click on the BOM tab, type in
a part number and hit the magnifying glass, a Part/Revision update window
comes up, so you can edit an existing part or revision record, without
having to back out into part maintenance.
Given this information, I'm confident that the new interface will suit us
just fine, and the enhancements on the horizon should make the Engineering
Workbench a tool more efficient then the old interface.
We also talked about the fact that though the new interface has the added
step of checking in and out, it gives us greater visibility as to in-process
changes that are going on.
Though the new process is at times more complex from a data entry
standpoint, it will allow better traceability of Document Control
operations, which will help us in our ISO implementation.
Since it is apparent that the Engineering Workbench design is on a path that
will make it the best option for both Engineering and Document Control
departments, there's probably no need for a poll.
