Exploded BOM report w/costs?

Happy 4th of July, everyone!

Hopefully this is a quick question. Our Finance Team asked me if we have a report that will show the exploded BOM of a finished good - including the cost of the materials AND the expected labor costs. (we work on standard costs)

The first thing I thought of was the BOM Cost report, but I don’t believe that has everything they are looking for. It also isn’t formatted very well (there are column headers that say "textbox1, 2, 3…etc.).

Anyone have any ideas? As always, your assistance is greatly appreciated.

I built a custom one using the hierarchy BAQ examples on this website. It was not easy.

Thanks Cristian.

I started building a BAQ and I got as far as having the Parent Part show the MTL parts. However, the ONLY Mtl parts that are showing are the subassemblies. How were you able to get the BAQ to flush the entire BOM down to the raw materials of the subassemblies? Any tips??

Here’s a post comment with a BAQ for BOM explosion you can download and install. It will save you a lot of headaches.

Tim, you will buy zero drinks in my town from now on! Thank you

hahaha… I totally forgot about that presentation. did i really create that? hahah. I did that presentation at a very busy time in my Epicor career. I had just accepted the position change from Sr Principal Consultant to Sr Principal Product Manager which i would be moving to later that month.

Recursive queries took me some time to get my head around, and i still have to go back to my notes to do it right.
