Refresh Grid is there but does nothing. This also breaks switching from My Tasks to All Tasks.

UX: Nothing happens - go get a coffee - come back - forgot what what you were doing - give up.

Is the BO GetRows still there, if so cant we customize the button? It has to be there since Classic Sys Monitor works fine.

You can’t customize the system monitor, its not available in app studio.

You are correct.. we have several developers that have been on this HUGE project for quite a while. issue is that this is a complex problem, and needs to adjust how we do COSTING (product costing), and Pricing (Sales Price and Purchase Price). This affects and touches almost all areas of kinetic… but it IS in Development.

Understood.

Curious whether you’ve engaged interested customers to determine priorities? For example, it could be that costing on purchased material is more wanted than costing manufactured parts. Can we reduce scope, iterate, and release one sooner than the other?

Great question, and it deserves an Answer. We DO regularly look at the heavy hitter ideas with lots of votes. we would LOVE to complete and close them all. If I could complete the top 10 ideas, we would close out over 2400 votes. BUT… if we were to dedicate our engineering efforst on those top 10, i would consume everything we do for the next few years. Reason? Most of those are very heavy engineering uplifts… Here are a few examples (trying to be transparent here):

Disassembly Jobs - KIN-I-3684 - 216 votes - This is X-Large - About 1/2 year of a developers life. i have been pushing this one for several years. I believe that :safe_harbor: (Safe harbor) :safe_harbor: it might actually be going into the deveopment cycle within the next few months (Yeah!).

Merging Customer IDs - ERP-I-740 - 349 votes - this one is HUGE. Just the design alone is huge. Analysis of what it SHOULD do is complex. Do you retain history? do you combine orders? how do you do all this in all the ways that OUR customers want (everyone has differing opinions). but at the end of the day, the number of hours it will take will far exceed the usage (in my opinion). we have had discussions over the years, but in the end, we can never justify kicking out 8-10 other idea features to do this one feature. Closing 350 votes for 10 ideas instead of 350 votes for 1 idea… what would you choose? (:safe_harbor: Safe harbor :safe_harbor: we hope to have a preview of BoldReports early next year)

SSRS → Bold Reports - KIN-I-6902 - 529 votes - This one falls into the category of still “Gauging Interest”… but it is also “fully planned”… we dont have a separate category in Epicor Ideas for something that we have decided to do, but not yet in development. If we did, we could put it into that category, but I can also say, we are about to put this into development, and at that point the status will change.

Summary: I typically think in BLACK AND WHITE, but there are many grey areas here.. things we want to do, things that we are planning, things that we want but may not get done because they are too big.

Not ignoring… just still catching up. (You will be included in the CR call next week  )

we do have customer groups that we meet with regularly… we have both PAB (Product advisory board) and CAB (Customer Advisory Board) for various topics. In this case, the cost/price is being driven internally by our consulting team who regularly work with customers and they have helped us with the priority. Note that we DO have this broken out into three different EPICS.. Cost, Purchase Price and Sales Price, and we are working through the issues. but we need to make sure that the design aligns across all three. As far as I know, they are still in the design phase, and then will start programming once they resolve all the design issues. More to come on this.

Yes, this does happen every once in a while… with over 2000 active ideas, every once in a while, we find an idea for something that we fixed in a previous release, but wasn’t connected to an EPIC. When it is connected to the epic, it goes through the normal path of “in Development” and “Delivered”, but if we find one that we did deliver after the fact, it skips the step.

Sometimes this happens when I am reviewing the candidates for Expiration. I find one that says it should be expired, I review and realize it was already done. many times this idea was a duplicate of another idea that never got merged.. the other idea is “delivered”. when I merge the ideas, it updates the status.

Thanks for your reply.

As self-appointed head of the UUAB (Uninformed & Unsolictied Advisory Board):

Purchase Price can come first and Cost will just work.

Only if doing purchase direct… but if it goes to stock, we have to keep different average cost for every attribute set. if doing Standard Costing, we have to have a different standard cost. My example has been “Shoes”.. the shoe store might sell all the show sizes for the same price, but in reality the COST for those is different because there is a different amount of material for each shoe size. So, we need to account for the cost by size, even if we sell them all for the same price. BUT some companies, want to charge more for the RED shoe than the black shoe. (Automobile companies charge more for special colors than they do for black/white/grey). the COST might be the same, but they found they can make more money by charging for the special red/blue/green colors.

Again thanks for what you do. Really don’t want you to take up your precious time on the uninformed.

FIFO/LIFO, Lot FIFO/LIFO all work when we type a price on a POLine for raw mtl today. Just want that to come from and goto Supplier Price List by AttrSetID. The rest can come later.

Maybe one at a time would let you clear high customer requested ideas and do bug fixing, etc.

Allow Backflushing to Be Set in Method of | Epicor Ideas Portal

Not my idea but this is something we struggle with – allowing the Backflush flag to be changed at the method of manufacture would resolve a bit of overhead and “gotchas” when managing subcontract jobs for us.

I think I was asked to be a part of this, but we don’t use AUOM.

I’m extremely interested in it

I’m glad they at least added “User Description” before locking that down.

Josh, I have a huge interest in AUOM and spoke with that team that I’d be willing to be part of the groups cause standard costing is a must.

I’m just trying to get us used to standard costing as it is before switching up to AUOM haha.
