Actually, I’m going to plop this whole post from last week’s Frideas! in case anybody missed it… @Randy did a great job of collecting a lot of the ideas out there to bring Kinetic up to parity with Classic prior to sunset. These should all be reviewed and voted for, if you haven’t already!

Where is @tpogue’s idea about being able to customize the application studio home page to not try to load all the records immediately when you first launch the screen? I can’t find it.

Neither of these are mine but they are near and dear to my heart:

allow more color options for fields in kinetic Grid
The color options in Kinetic are beyond pathetic and the fact that they don’t make it into the Export to Excel feature just means that Kinetic dashboards are even less useful.

Couldn’t you just save a layout with a set filter to limit the records that are loaded?
“Layout” …oops … they set me up on that one.
I meant this “Save Layout” on the panel. Here I filtered AR Invoice to this specific invoice and every time I open the app the landing page only shows that invoice.

That does not exist on the application studio home page as you can see in my screenshot above. That is what we are asking for.

Earlier this week I ran into the ‘missing feature’ in Epicor to be able to assign Buyer’s by Supplier. This is an idea out there that is still gauging interest, please vote it up!
The Idea:
Add BUYER to the Supplier tables, and add to | Epicor Ideas Portal

I noticed that User Accounts added the ability to copy users! (Maybe it’s been there, and I never noticed it).
How about copying employees? We can’t paste-insert into the landing page.
This would make on-boarding new employees much faster and mistake proof, since they often are setup similar to their peers.
Should be easy to implement. Actions > Copy User, pop-up new user ID, name, percon. Clone the rest.

Alisa - Can you save the layout as a personalization, then merge layers? I had to do that to hide the enterprise search group box in Kinetic User Account Maintenance, since we don’t change from the default, and App Studio didn’t let you hide it. Personalizations did.
No, you can see in my screenshot above, there is no “Save Layouts” command in application studio, period. You cannot save a personalization. You cannot make a layer. There is no way to control it, hence the idea. I actually believe they made an attempt to address the idea in 2025.1, because they added a setting where it looks like you should be able to set the number of records retrieved. But it doesn’t work.

there is an ability to use a function where you copies a user. so maybe you can implement copy of employee there

I suspect that very few Kinetic customers use the BAQ gadget tile functionality, but I would also bet that those customers who do use it would like improved capability to monitor which users are using them. AFAIK, there currently is no visibility of this in the application.
Add “Home tile BAQ gadget” usage to the “where used” functionality in the BAQ Designer
