On Friday, it’s EpiUsers Frideas Day! Have you been to the Epicor Ideas Portal recently? If so, are there some ideas you want to encourage other users to vote for? Maybe want to add comments to an existing idea?

A few of mine I’d like to get more attention for:

Ability to Set Minimum Order Quantity on the Supplier Level and Have it Referenced in PO Entry. - KIN-I-5829
This has come up a couple times recently in EpiUsers forum where users would like to set a Minimum Order Quantity at the Supplier Level for a given part.

A new column on VendPart for MOQ would be ideal, eliminating the need to use a bogus price break.

Add Ability (Option) to Add a Custom Layer to All App-Open Events - KIN-I-6053
Any form in the system that has an app-open event to access another (customized) form must then also be customized. Customizing one form ends up requiring the creation and maintenance of several others forms just to access it.

Add RFQ Reference Rows in Time Phase - KIN-I-5805
If a PO Suggestion is processed to a PO, the PO information is visible in Time Phase, so you can have a full accounting of the demand/supply.

However, if a PO Suggestion is processed to an RFQ, there is no reference to this in Time Phase. The suggestion was processed, so it no longer appears, and there is no PO (yet) so there is no way for someone to know a given part is being taken care of, if there was a glitch and no suggestion was ever created, etc.

Edit/Modify Search - KIN-I-4161
All we can do is cancel the search and completely start over.

It would be nice to have a “Modify Search” button that re-opens the search panel with all the previously entered criteria which could be edited and re-submitted.

Sorry 'bout that. Maybe we need an idea for that

I have to admit I have a bit of voting fatigue. It doesn’t seem like the vote count is really the predominate factor in what gets implemented.

It doesn’t seem to be a factor at all.

Add the ability to set allow / disallow for menus from Security Group Maintenance

Ever try to audit your security? See who has access to what? Good luck with that.

I don’t know, it might be. Its not really transparent how they select things. It could be a complex formula based on numerous sensible factors, or maybe projects leads pick whatever they feel like. I don’t know. Its not very transparent.

I just know, emotionally, I feel like there is no point in voting. It feels like Epicor heard us screaming, so they stuffed a lollypop in our mouth.

Perhaps I am just in a pessimistic mood today…

Increase the number of characters for the ECCQuoteNum field in the PcECCOrderDTL table

In Magento if you setup the quote prefix with more than one character, the quotes will generate an error due to the ECCQuoteNum field in the PCECCOrderDTL table only allowing 10 characters. There is not a way to adjust the numbering of the quotes in Magento so the change would need to be to the PCECCOrderDTL table.

It does affect which ideas get dumped as unpopular

Since @aosemwengie1 linked to this other idea in the comments…

I just have to say, only 35 votes?: If you have not voted for this idea, you obviously are still using classic menu maintenance as a crutch until 2026.1.

To those people: do us all a favor and try menu security in Kinetic and then see if still you feel no need to vote.

If not, well, you’ll see in a year or two.

100% @JasonMcD. I am still using Classic but I’ve gone in and tasted/seen the Kinetic version and agree wholeheartedly. I voted on both and added a comment to the one you just posted from @aosemwengie1. If comments are worth anything, there’s another one in the idea to show it’s actively being discussed and stuff.

Agreed, the worst part of the new way is trying to figure out which menu item in the tree is blocking or allowing something that we want to change, the old way of being able to see it and just drill down until the offending level was found was great, not have to jump back and forth between screens for each level to even see where the problem might lie.

This is somewhat related… this idea is specifically calling out the fact that there’s no displayed menu path when you do a search, but I agree it should be across the board. You should always be able to see the menu path, having them in the crumb-bar as links would let you at least backtrack to various levels more easily.
