It’s working as designed. They don’t want to kill ideas outright, but have effectively killed it nonetheless.
It’s like us telling our users to put in a ticket. You’ll see who is actually interested in your help. Most can’t lift a finger beyond stopping you in the hallway.
I can understand why, though. Without housekeeping it’s become an overwhelming majority of obsolete ideas. Relevant current input depends on a social media campaign on Epiusers to get floated into view.
Throttling inputs only works to steer alignment if the cruft is cleared out. Without housekeeping, old junk ideas are exposed to viralization.

It’s crazy that Epicor thought they needed an approval process to filter out all of the bad/duplicate ideas. Even Microsoft doesn’t do that with their Developer Community. Anyone can submit feedback and they will ask for more details or link to an existing feedback item if they need to.
This really proves that no one at Epicor is assigned to housekeep ideas. This idea should have been closed/delt with a long time ago
Agreed Ideas portal should be moderated, duplicated ideas merged, additional probing questions to flesh out submitted idea, and incomplete ideas dealt with in a timely manner.
However, Epicor isn’t doing this apart from @timshuwy keeping a better eye on the Kinetic ideas than anyone (assuming there is) assigned to monitor the others.
Thanks @Randy for the callout. Yes, we care (more than just me)… and we did have a procedural change to support approving ideas and making them visible. This procedure change is still being worked out. In Kinetic land… I am processing between 90 and 110 new ideas per month, and my goal is to have them all visible within hours of them being entered.. sometimes I miss. I have a report that I run showing all the ideas that have not yet been reviewed and made visible. I use this report to search out duplicates merge your votes, etc.
You might think that since Kinetic has the most votes for any product that it would be the hardest to maintain, but in some ways, other products (called “Workspaces” in Aha!) that only have a few new ideas per week/month do not always see the activity because they don’t have as many ideas to review.
Re the idea mentioned above, I have sent an email to the product manager involved. They had already reviewed it and assigned it but they missed the “make visible” step. SO.. just to their defence, THEY DO CARE… but missed a step in their procedures.
If this was a perfect world, nobody would make mistakes, and nobody would create bad ideas… but alas, that is not the case.
Thanks for looking into that @timshuwy! I thought it had been reviewed because it was moved into Gaging Interest
I didn’t mean to imply that others at Epicor didn’t care but that you had the best process we could “see” from a customer side for reviewing ideas. Glad to hear there are changes coming and hopefully an easier way for your teams to review ideas timely.

Hi Scott, I was thinking on this after our call, I search at my project repository from my previous work and I found something similar, but instead of saving the signature into a UD field, the tablet’s app save the signature as image and upload to a SharePoint site with a specific file name related with the order number & Packing Slip, after the image is saved a MS Power Automate detects a new image was created at the SharePoint site and launch a flow to take that image and using REST-API this image is created as attachment into the Sales Order and Invoice objects, so both reports could get the signature easily. For this case, once the image is already on SharePoint I think it could be saved into an UD field instead as an attachment if that is a requirement for you. I already vote for your Idea on Epicor, have an excellent week.
Regards
Raul D.
Yes, both POD and EKW have the option to sign on glass. The signature will be attached to either the header or the line of the customer shipment entry record.
Thanks Nikki
Looks like I need to take a step back from what we are doing to ask the question of Epicor from a different perspective. I do remember the first discussion mentioned POD and I think I shut it down.
Scott
Currently EKW is on the Epicor price list while POD is not. That often gets lost in translation. For EKW you go to your CAM. You can ask your CAM to get you info on POD, but the sale ultimately happens directly from Biscit for POD.
