Having a Second GL Book in different currency

Hi,

So we have a company with multi plants. The company is on USD, but one of the sites wants to start using a different currency.

They asked me whats possible if they want to keep the site as is but have the only functionality in different currency is cash reconciliation, AP invoice entry (non-PO related), cash payments, and general ledger transactions .

How would i go about this? Would need a new book i believe? How can i tell to what book should these ap invoices be pointing to?

Two options you have;

  1. Define additional reporting currency (different then USD), and you can see AP/AR transactions in both currencies.
  2. Define additional book with different currency - and map it to main book, system will auto post the transactions in second book according to the rates defined.

Thanks Rakesh!

Option 1 : would be just adding multi currency to the system correct?
Option 2: would be adding a second book and pointing it to the first in the screen below. So Accounting can print the “other currency” book with all the transactions. So anything posted in the other currency would show in the second book as that currency and then in the main book as the default usd currency?

thank you so much

Thank you i went with solution 2 and it works. the screen above was the correct place.
