Just glad to be here. www.epiusers.help has saved the day numerous times! Thanks to all with questions or answers shared here.
I live with my wife in a small town where we spend our time reading, collecting vintage Lego sets, and laughing at the strange behaviors of the feral cat we adopted.
I started my adventure with Epicor in '97 when joined Scala, company acquired by Epicor in 2004. Right now I run the 200 people Professional Services company specializing in Epicor ERP and iScala products. We believe in automation, introduce various automation techniques in ERP products saving thousands of labour hours of Epicor users.
Iāll be very glad to contribute to this group with the experience our team has.
Iām an ERP implementation specialist working on my first Epicor project. Iāve been brought in to assist in an implementation that has been dormant for a couple of years. The software was installed about four years ago and is still not in use across the board.
So far Iām struggling to wrap my head around the logic behind Epicors processes but I have now managed to find the various guides that they provide and Iām making my way through those.
I fear I will be raising some really āsimpleā questions in the coming weeks, and I look forward to hearing how people have worked through them to save me some time!
Obviously, try to do your homework here, but the hardest thing for me is always āwhat itās calledā - the magic jargon word that you need to search for in the help. Once I have that, Iām on a roll.
Definitely review the user guides. Depending on your previous experience I would also recommend the Technical reference guides as well. There is a lot of information to be add. The installation and configurations guides for Installing, ICE Guides, and Customizations are also good, if you are looking to get into the details of those options like BPMs, Table Extensions, and Customizing forms.
Iām making my way through through the implementation guide, and I think I have the others so I will follow up with those as I go. My client had the software installed several years ago and some guides have been lost along the way. Theres also no support contract in place so I canāt access Epicor University. Do you know of anywhere else to access the guides in PDF format?
Have been the one taking the bull by the horns by stepping up when a consultant or even when we hire someone for an Epicor roll doesnāt stay long, so I have learned somehow BAQās, Epicor Setting for all Modules, Dashboard, Reports, End-user/tech Manuals ā¦ and so on.
At this point in the story is where Epiusers got an important place in my daily basis, I am pleased to be here, to finally be part of this great community. ĀæHow did I got here?, back on 2017 trying to go deeper to get not only knowledge/training on Epicor10 but also be able to set it all, I started looking for peopleās real experience, not just theory, and every time I google an epicusers.help link was there to assist. Now that the implementation is over and I have lower my mind revolutions have realized that I want not only to be able to learn more from you guys but also to be able to help someone if there is something useful I can share.

Hi everyone! Iām a newbie to the group and to Epicor. I work for a small electronics design and manufacturing company outside of Raleigh, NC. Weāre in the process of implementing Epicor 10 and Iām the lucky project manager. Since weāre a small company and we all wear a lot of hats as a general rule - this also means that Iām trying to learn EVERYTHING since Iām responsible for making this thing work! I stumbled across this group by accident as I was āGTSāingā (Google That Sā¦) an issue I had. Seems like a great group with a lot of interaction - which was definitely not the case with the user group of our soon-to-be previous MRP system. Iāll try to do my research before asking questions!
Welcome Wendy! There are a lot of experts here. After you have done your research, ask away! Weāll try to help as much as we can. When posting questions, please be as detailed as you can be so it helps us understand what is happening. Too many times people post things and havenāt given the details so we waste time having to ask for them. Since all of us are busy people, some questions can get overlooked or unanswered due to not having enough details. Also note that we are a pretty friendly group and we try to welcome new users with open arms and help them because we have all walked in those shoes at one time or another!
@slitzau Welcome to epiusers again, looking forward to hearing and seeing some of the cool stuff you do. Feel free to reach out to this group whenever you need something.
@utaylor - Thanks. After a year of not working on Epicor I am having to dust off the Epicor knowledge brain cells, funny how much you lose quickly. I had to do a complete mind shift in the last year working on ECI MAX (yuck) but it is starting to come back - slowly. I guess I have some shoes here to fill now
