Is moving to Epicor 9 worth the effort?

We dont have any 'major' printing problems in E9 (503B). I heard that all printing of certain forms stopped in 505B or A but it is now fixed in 505C.

There are some report data def configs which worked in V8 but won't work in E9 so we have had to look at them and recreate them.

A lot more forms have moved from the Progress style to Crystal style form thankfully.

I would be interested to see if anyone is having or has had major printing problems in E9.

We are on Vantage 6.1 and in the process of evaluating the upgrade to E9.

Do I understand correctly? There are STILL printing issues in E9.

From what I see, E9 offers little more than V8 did, but it did fix some of the major issues which we had which nudged us to upgrade.

We are currently on 9.04.503B and are movning to 505C in a few weeks in the hope that a lot more of our bugs will be fixed.

The major differences are the financial side of the software which we are still having problems with, the BAQ writing which has been simplified, parent/child. The majority of the system is exactly the same, just a different colour.

It does feel slower than V8 but that might be because we have a lot more data in E9 (as we never went live in V8).

Printing is still 'faffy' because of the way it generates data compared to legacy systems.

The other thing of course is the spec required for the server and PCs.

We are evaluating 9 right now. Our biggest issue is that our
Configurators did not handle migration very well. We are trying to
determine what the issue is. The new functionality that we have tested
works well, but many of the same issues that we had in 8.03 are still in
9.

We are at 8.03.403C considering the move to 9.x. In looking at the added
functionality and not being aware of everything else that will break
during the move, I'm wondering if moving to Epicor 9 is worth the effort
and expense.

Any real world, bottom line advantages?
