Job Entry Part Revision Field Auto Updating?

We are coming from Epicor 9 and we noticed something different with the revision field.

Our process is to create the job through the sales order which pulls the revision from the order to the job which works just the same.

When we pull details into the job it looks like the revision field in the job updates to whatever we are pulling details from. Sometimes we are pulling details from older quotes or jobs with older revisions as reference and then updating as needed. This did not happen in 9, it always remained the revision from the SO. You could manually change it if needed but it never automatically updated based on where you pull details. Is there a way to turn this feature off?

Thank you

The only field I can thing of that impacts some of this behavior is the “Use Part Revision” checkbox on the individual Part records.

Field help text:
if Yes then the part effective revision is used. If No then the revision of the demand source is used (OrderDtl, JobMtl…)

Hmmm, I believe all of our manufactured parts have this field checked. You would think we would have noticed this in Epicor 9. We will continue to monitor and test now that we are aware.

Thank you

There have been changes in the way that we handle revisions, so you may be noticing that… in the later versions, we now allow you to stock inventory at different revisions, and we also allow you to manufacture and stock the older revisions. As part of that change, some other changes in behaviour may have been required. Remember that when upgrading from E9 to Kinetic, you are moving across 15 years of improvements and changes, so figuring out when that might have happened can be difficult. I would test, and make sure that you understand and adjust your procedures.
