Kanban Entry - Scrap Qty record in LaborDtl

Thanks Rob. Am definitely looking at BPM's / customisations and will also review Non-Conformance with our Quality Manager once he's got more understanding of how it all works in Vantage.

Epicor have replied but still need them to confirm if they see the way the system works as correct (which doesn't really make sense to me if the scrap costs are included if production parts made too!) or if it is actually a bug.

As far as I am aware LaborDtl is the only table that records scrap quantities so surely it is an error if no corresponding Job record is there? Also, when I print the Production Detail for the Job there are no Actual Costs. Any suggestions?

We've been using KanBan Receipts for years (on 409a)Â & I have never seen that behavior Tracy. (Admittedly, I don't review every receipt anymore as it had proven so reliable).

Â
Not sure we have ever encountered your conditions where the entire kanban receipt is reported as Scrap. (Typically it is a small qty of scrap & predominantly presumably good production.) If we do encounter issues after receipt, we non-conform the material & shuttle it through the QC process from stock.

Thanks for your reply. I agree with what you have posted - we have been on Vantage for a while and don't tend to check individual jobs, and rarely enter just scrap - I only picked it up as I was working in our Test system and verifying my data for a new report.

We don't use non-conformance on Kanban Receipts as our Quality Dept has has a high turnover of staff in last few years so it has been better for us to just 'scrap' parts off - maybe worth looking out now we have a good manager in place though!

I have logged a call with Epicor too so will see what comes out of that :)

Probably wouldn't be difficult to write a BPM (or client customization) to prevent action if ONLY scrap qty is reported thru KanBan Receipts.
Â
Or, if you feel your QC management is at a stage where they can handle it, hide the scrap qty entry entirely on the form & put everything through non-conform (and let QC deal with it so you can track everything via single table records through DMR rejections).
