Kinetic Customization halfway visible for some users

Hello, I’ve created a customization layer in application studio and deployed it. I’ve also updated the menu item to use this layer. The screen is Job Entry and I made minor changes to the Main page, and the Materials page.

Here’s the odd part, I have two users report that they cannot see the changes on the Materials page but they can see the changes on the Main page. I verified on a temp account that both pages match what’s in application studio. My account also matches what’s in application studio. Another odd thing, I’m using the same layer in two companies. These two users say it looks fine in company A but not company B.

All I did in the Materials page was change what columns are on the materials list view (removed some fields and added some UD fields). Example below.

I’ve redeployed the customization layer but they still report only seeing the updated Main page, not the Materials page.

Did I missing anything when deploying this layer or any suggestions to get it back in sync with all users? Thanks,

Are your users using the Browser or Client?

If Client, tell them to close it out and log back in. Any Change?

If Browser, tell them to clear their cache and try again. Any Change?

Browser caching is an on-going battle. I have to reinforce that after most upgrades. Epicor changes the UI, but user browsers load old images of the forms. Clearing cache will force them to reload a fresh image from the servers and typically works.

Hi @dcamlin they are using the browser and I one of the first things I asked after they reported the issue was to logout and then clear the browser cache but that didn’t change anything. I almost wonder if its something to do with personalizations, maybe a corrupt one?

There is a Personalization Purge menu… available only via the Client unless you have Edge Agent… its a classic form (go figure).

You could jump in there and see if you can find the respective users/forms and whack any personalizations.

Search, select… then in the Action Menu, you can “purge selected”. Worth a shot.

I thought that only clears the Classic Personalizations? For grins, I checked that yesterday and found 1 of the two users had as personalization on Job entry for company B that is having the issue and purged it. But still no luck after they signed out and then back in :frowning:

Could be! Maybe that’s why it didn’t work for me.

I’ve had a data fix provided to clear out personalizations… but they expire over time (version specific). But you could request one and see if that helps.

I think I may have found the solution. So far I only tested on one of the two users but using this awesome tool @hmwillett made (Thanks!) Need votes for a program to remove kinetic personalizations - #17 by hmwillett I was able to delete the Kinetic personalization on Job Entry and when they logged back in, it now shows the same columns on the material list view as my layer in application studio.
