No risk until the user decides to cache every tracker in the system. It can cause crashes in Vantage when too many programs are cached. It doesn't seem to matter whether they have 2, 3 or 4gb of memory in their machine either, at least on Windows XP 32 bit. We are slowly getting people upgraded to Windows 7 64 bit so the verdict is still out on it.

Subject: [Vantage] Memory Cache - Any Risk?
I showed a couple of my users the “Memory Cache†option for the screens (Tools – Options – Memory Cache)... makes them load much faster and now they’re setting this option on many screens.
Is there any downside to this? I can’t think of any. I’m sure client patches will still roll out when needed.
Thanks.
