I agree...vBulletin is nice and aside from search would allow seperate
message boards based on topic areas (6.1, 8.0, CorVu, Crystal, etc...). On
the other hand I have the YahooGroup messages forwarded to my work email
address and have an Outlook wizard move them to archives so I can use
Outlook to search old messages. I've kept pretty much everything since Sept
9, 2000. I also like the "instant" (most of the time) awareness of
questions (mine or others') via email delivery so answering can be quicker
then depending on who is logged in to the vBulletin web site.

A suggestion for EUG might be to establish a unified Epicor vBulletin system
that could incorporate Vantage topic areas but access would probably require
membership in order to fund it.

I understand that this message board has been going for a few years
now. Has there ever been any thought on moving to a vbulletin style
board where, for example, you can search all messages rather than just
a selection.
I suppose the main obstacles would be the cost of hosting the board and
the hassle of porting over the data, but it would make for a much
easier read!

(I don't mean to cause any trouble, it was just a thought!)

the YahooGroups is more of a mass e-mail service rather than a message board. vBulletin would be a much nicer for searching past postings and help to divide items into topics. If you're looking for real-time notification, vBulletin support RSS feeds, so you could get an RSS reader or setup an ASP page that refreshes on a timely manor and set that as your active desktop in windows so you could have real-time listing of postings being added.
