Sounds like you need to make the stringers, pans and railings and then
send them off as a kit rather than as a single part. Then you can
partially ship the kit (or part of the kit) if necessary.

Subject: [Vantage] Metal Fabrication for Construction Industry
Does anybody out here use Vantage for a Metal Fabrication business? We
are
a machine manufacturer and Vantage works very well in our industry;
however,
we recently purchased a misc. metals fabrication company that serves the
construction industry and are having a hard time dealing with them in
Vantage.
As an example, a we may have a job to fabricate stairs and railings for
a
building. To simplify things lets say we are making stringers, pans and
railings. They are all subassemblies of a job or jobs. Where we run into
problems is when we partial ship, and yes it happens all the time. A
simple
solution is to do a completely itemized sales order and a job for each
item,
but that is not desirable because we quote a complete job and don't care
to
show the customer a detailed breakdown.
The issues are larger than I have explained but I didn't want to bore
you
all. If anyone has experience with Vantage and the construction industry
I
love to gain some insight from you.
Thanks
