Miscellaneous Shipments

Set up Product Group(s) that tie to different G/L accounts than your regular sales accounts. Then create Sales Order, and use regular Packing Slip to "close" the order. You'll need to advise accounting what to do about invoicing, especially if your company is not the customer (with a different ship-to).

Subject: [Vantage] Miscellaneous Shipments

We have a need to ship samples to customers, inventory items to trade shows and other miscellaneous types of shipments. Although there's a miscellaneous shipment entry function, there's no "front-end" (like a sales order). Have any of you devised/built a front end for uninvoiced shipments? I'd like to track backorders on a request and perhaps even decrement inventory in some cases but I don't want these shipments to be reflected in any sales or margin reports. Any suggestions?
