MRP not creating PO Suggestions

Yeah, I was wondering what version, because in 607B, this is not an issue.

 

It must be a known bug in 604.

I have been doing some more testing on this and the strange thing is that if a supplier has been entered in the PartPlant.Vendor field under Purchasing on the Plant Detail tab of Part then MRP fails to generate a PO suggestion. Remove it and it generates a PO Suggestion. I have yet to work out exactly what it is about the supplier that causes this to happen.

 

To answer your questions

 

1. Job is engineered and scheduled

2. Not checked as make direct

3. I didn't check multi level pegging

4. parts are checked as quantity bearing

 

Parts within the same BoM are having PO suggestions made if this Vendor field is empty and those with an entry for a particular supplier are not

 

I have noticed also that the MRP recalc field is ticked for the item and am now running MRP as Net Change to see what happens and whether the field gets cleared

We're on 905607B but once upon a time mrp on 904 something.  A few thoughts:

1. Are jobs engineered?  Are they scheduled?

2.  Any chance matl checked as make direct on job matl detail tab?

3. Do you have multi level pegging checked on MRp run?

4. Are parts checked as quantity bearing?

E9 and not multi plant. It's very strange, I would have expected to see a PO suggestion in time phase against the parts but didn't. However after running Generate PO suggestions it picked up that the part was needed and created a PO

I have had that issue and just started Regen.  Seems like the PartDtl table is not getting populated.

It has a part class, is not on the fly and is a purchased part - I can compare it with another part which is set up exactly the same and a PO suggestion is created by MRP

604 sadly - don't say it!

 

I have just spotted that the parts not generating PO suggestions all have the same supplier - it's late here, very late - so I am off to bed but will try again tomorrow having removed the supplier - my suspicion centres around the supplier and price list - only a guess at this stage

4. parts are checked as quantity bearing

 

Parts within the same BoM are having PO suggestions made if this Vendor field is empty and those with an entry for a particular supplier are not

 

I have noticed also that the MRP recalc field is ticked for the item and am now running MRP as Net Change to see what happens and whether the field gets cleared

We're on 905607B but once upon a time mrp on 904 something.  A few thoughts:

1. Are jobs engineered?  Are they scheduled?

2.  Any chance matl checked as make direct on job matl detail tab?

3. Do you have multi level pegging checked on MRp run?

4. Are parts checked as quantity bearing?
