MRP Jobs Blank Title 56581

Stuart,

I found out the problem with my BOM. It seems that there was a material in a different BOM that had an improper related operation. Because it was directly tied into the part in question, no MRP job was being created. All I did was change the related operation to a valid operation and it worked.

I have seen some strange issues with MRP not generating suggestions if
you raise a job, and change something in some way after the first MRP
run. I have not been able to replicate the issue, so haven't lodged a
support call. If you use assemblies this seems even more prone to
happen.

Basically we get the same situation you describe, demand shows for a
part, yet MRP ignores it. It is as if the job is flagged as being looked
after, but it hasn't been unflagged when something changes, but I do not
believe this is how Vantage works, so it has me stumped.

The only way I can get it to happen is to do something drastic to the
job. If you don't have subassemblies, I think the date must be the
issue. So what I do is totally change both dates, and then Run Regen
MRP. Then you should see the MRP job. If so, I change only the due date
flag to a time maybe a day or so before you need it, and rerun the MRP
regen.

If there are subassemblies causing issues, I actually delete the
subassembly from the job, and re-enter it as a subassembly manually.

This behaviour is highly concerning to me, because you have no warning
that something is going wrong, unless you manually create a report
showing unbalanced demands and receipts, and remember to run it
regularly.

If you work out anything further please keep us posted.

I have a part that MRP seems to ignore when it generates MRP jobs. I
effective date is before today, and it is approved.

Does anybody know what are some of the reasons why MRP would not create
jobs for that part?

Thanks,

Jasper

Thanks Stuart, this sounds like the same problem I have. You mentioned an unbalance demand report, how did you go about creating that?

Thanks
Jasper
