Multi-Company Direct Server Process Records processed

Was messing around with our global customers in a test instance and didn’t realize some old MCDSP processes were “stuck” in Pending. They weren’t showing up in the system monitor on the Kinetic side, so I ended up with a ton of records to process.

Turns out in 2025.2 the MCDSP processes all available records when you run it. Before 2025.2 it only did 1000 records per company at a time. Because of that, the processes got stuck in “Pending” again.

I’ve never really thought about running this as “Continuous.” The PS guys at Epicor told us not to back in 10.2.500 when we were getting started, and I just never circled back to it.

We do mass updates every now and then and I want this thing to work no matter what. Anybody else run into this and had trouble with the >1000 records at a time processing?

So, I figured it out. It’s working correctly.

Reports were running, tasks were starting. But tasks were not finishing. When looking at the System Agent, it said it was “Stopped”. When looking at the Task Agent in EAC, the dot was Red, but if I right clicked the only option I had was “Stop”.

When I did that, it went to Disabled, and then I restarted it. When everything was green, the System Agent said “Started” and everything started behaving.

I didn’t think to check the System agent because things were running…I only did so when they weren’t finishing.
