I am currently looking for someone to fill our Network Admin
position.
Duties and Responsibilities will include:
• Monitors, tunes, sets standards and maintains a range of
computer network components and systems
• Supports Accounting, Sales, Program Management, and
Manufacturing departments at the corporate location for an ongoing
and continuously evolving campus area network consisting of over
100+ devices, including but not limited to servers, routers,
switches, and wireless access points.
• Assist in the inventory and tracking of network devices and
IP management of equipment
• Coordinates the efforts of network design and maintenance
• Conducts network investigations and tests of intermediate to
advanced complexity
• Recommends and implements corrections in technical
applications and analysis results
• May provide technical consultation to other organizations,
vendors, partners, and customers
• Provides on-call support for computer/network systems and
24X7x365 support as needed
Requirements:
• High School diploma or GED required
• Minimum five years work experience in Information Technology
application development, or related field required
• LAN / WAN Transmission
• Microsoft Server 2000 / 2003 OS, Active Directory,
Exchange/2003
• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office suite applications
(Word, Excel, Visio, Project) for implementation and troubleshooting
• Working / use knowledge and setup of IIS and SharePoint
Portal Server 2003 and its security
• VPN setup for remote users / offices
• Software/hardware tools for troubleshooting
• Performance tuning / load balancing
• Wiring and Punch-down Skills – Cat5 and Telephone
• Technical and analytical ability
• Network Certification: MCSE, A+ is desirable
• Great oral and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills also required
• Excellent analytical skills, personal initiative and a focus
on adding value to processes are required
• Verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to provide continuous support while preserving
system integrity is also required
• Ability to work independently and with little direction is
required
• Ability to manage time and maintain customer relationships
is critical.
Preferred skills and traits:
• Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems,
Business Administration, or Computer Science strongly desired
• Knowledge of Linux
• Knowledge of relational databases – SQL, Progress DB is
beneficial
