New "Auto Update" Function triggered, should I be concerned?

We run E10.2.700.7 over remoteApps (Remote Desktop Services) to avoid deploying clients.

Twice today when opening my DEV environment, this has popped up:

It first says something like “Stopping Session Manager” then spends about 30 seconds zipping through a list of files.

Anyone familiar with this?

The only thing I know that has changed (other than a bunch of MES customization) is that I’ve installed K21 on the same server.

Add /Skip in properties.

The only way this gets triggered is if your sysconfig file oj the server and the client are different

Can you compare the two?

^^^ what Jose said.

Interesting, the clients we have are obviously only on the TS’s and on those, every one has a different change date on the config file. I’ll diff them out presently.

In the meantime, on the server are you talking about the config file in LocalClients?

OK, duh. I patched the server and didn’t patch the clients. The repeat events were because the farm allocated me to a different TS

I guess:

  • Shame on me

  • Clients will update themselves after patching, and otherwise still work

There is a tiny little bit more distributed knowledge in the universe now, so that’s good

Thanks for the input - not sure about adding switches that I don’t understand even though they work - that way leads to the dark side…

What does “/Skip”, skip?

It skips that verification as far as I understand.
