You will find that Report Builder is probably easier to use and works well
in most cases but if you want to get fancy you will need to use Crystal
Reports. It is much more powerful than RB.

Download any and all reports from YahooGroups and also Epicor's website and
then tear them apart (meaning, look at the table joins fields, groups, etc).
I started from Scratch about a year ago and learned the same way. (I also
had someone in the company who had taken the report builder class help get
me started.)
Second, download the Excel File on egroups that has the Data Definitions in
it. This will help you scroll, search, and analyze the Tables and Fields
much easier than using Vantage's Data Definitions.
You will find the link to Yahoo Groups at the bottom of this message.

Subject: [Vantage] Off Topic - All New Reports??
Hi all,
Just a quick question....the company I am interning at is migrating from
Classic which was on AS/400 to Vantage 4.0 on Windows NT. We need to write
all new reports which will be my job. One problem though, I've barely
touched Crystal Reports and Report Builder let alone Vantage!! I'm pretty
clueless when it comes to knowing which tables and fields should be used in
what reports. Which is better to use? How do I become familiar and
proficient at using either one? Where do I start? How do I duplicate the old
reports from Classic as closely as possible? I guess all I need is a good
starting point that I can learn from. Any help would be gratiously
appreciated!! Thanks!!
