One thing about microsoft, they NEVER remove features. They just hide them
and call them "undocumented"

I forgot all about that, since going to Excel 2000 the menu features which
are not used are hidden. I don't use that feature much and forgot all
about
it. It worked great thanks. I guess I'll turn the menu hide feature off.

In excel, under the FORMAT menu, is a selection called CONDITIONAL
FORMATING. This selection allows you to set up just such conditional
requirements. Its quite a nifty tool.

I need some help. I want to write a macro to evaluate the contents (numeric)
of a cell and change the background color based on the evaluation. Example:
If the value of cell A12 > 40 turn the background Red. I know I can change
the font color based on a custom format but I need to change the background
not the font color. I wrote a macro to change the color but I can't figure
out the syntax for the evaluation of the cell contents.

Please contact me off list so I don't bother the other members. Thanks.....
