Rob,
Thanks for your input. I have a few parts where the allocations are
screwed up so I will contact Epicor for the utility. I was referring to
the order detail screen and I will pass along you comments. I will be
upgrading to .406 in the near future and hopefully it will be fixed
there. Asking users to perform extra clicks is like asking for a kidney
or something. I will let you know if the upgrade fixes it.

Do a massive query to determine of your allocations (sum of allocations
per PartWhse for each part) actually equals your true open Job or sales
order requirements (PartDtl table).
We have had allocations get seriously screwed up (once as a result of a
rarely invoked bug our non typical process use triggered on 404 and
since then, as a result of some holes in how some of their BO methods do
things - enabling users to do things that mess up allocations
unwittingly).
"Available" appears to typically be a client app on-the-fly calculation
that uses O/H and allocations in the calculation.
If you find your allocations ARE screwed up, Support can provide you
with utility to recalculate and reset allocations. (Something I
recommend you plan to do as preventative maintenance at regular
intervals - weekly or monthly during non-business hours.)
If you are specifically speaking of the Available qty listed in the
Order Entry Line Detail tab (far right near the top) - they are junk
numbers on 405a (and I believe may also have been junk at least back to
404). I suggest you hide the controls & labels via customization and
report the problem to Epicor. Just train you people to right click from
the line P/N into time phase or Part Tracker to see more accurate info.
Please let me know how you make out with it Kersten. If it is nothing as
I describe, I'd like to verify that what YOU are experiencing (once I
understand it in more detail) is not silently occurring in OUR live 405a
system.
Good luck (and thanks for the heads up).
Rob

I have alot of part numbers that show more available than are on hand.
We have recently upgraded to 405A. Does anyone know of a conversion
program that needs to be run?
