We use Interland. Good service. Tech support is good. I forget the cost,
but know it's not expensive.

I've not used them personally, but I've heard good things about colossus:

I think the people who designed their web site are on crack, though.

I was wondering if any other Vantage users had any experience in
implementing
email utilizing an ASP?

What we're considering is outsourcing our entire email solution with an
Application Service Provider.

We have several facilities, three in the U.S., one in Mexico, Singapore and
China. We had decided to deploy Lotus Notes across the corporation but our
President wanted us to investigate outsourcing this function before moving
forward.

While I'm not a fan of outsourcing applications (especially email), ASPs do
begin to have some appeal when considering cash flow, our current structure and
dearth of I.T. resources.

Are you talking about an Application Service Provider third party solution
where your e-mail is stored on their web server and you access it from a
browser? If you are looking to outsource your e-mail to a server on the
internet, you could consider just using a local ISP that offers multiple
e-mail addresses.

Or are you talking about an Active Server Page setup where your mail is
managed on an in-house web server? I know Exchange has built into it a web
portal for accessing e-mails through a browser...

I use my ISP as my ASP of sorts. It's both our web host and email server.
I'm using the Outlook client workgroup option giving me a company inhouse
postoffice and also internet email. All the personal folders are stored on
an internal server which I backup nightly. Works ok. My only wish would be
that I could administer internet mailboxes myself. Every time I need a new
email address I wait at least two weeks for it to be activated so I can
begin using it. I'd say if you're leaning ASP, be sure you still have some
degree of control.
