[OT] Can't add printer WinNT?

Gave up...reformatted drive and reloaded NT...works fine now. I'm sure that
my "helpful" user deleted something that he shouldn't have...course, on his
new computer, he doesn't have ANY rights to do ANY thing, 'cept work...

Thanks so much for your help.
Lydia

Are you logged on as a domain admin or local admin?
Try local admin account if you haven't already.

Thanks, Bruce...spooler was started, so I stopped and started it
again...didn't work. But it has got me thinking this must be some
weird
permissions problem (almost everything is in NT), so I'm going to
work that
angle briefly. Otherwise, I'll reload, it'll take less time. I
just HATE
IT!!!

Well, this is interesting:

I have a Windows NT workstation that has been on the network for some time,
running Vantage, Pro-E, Windows Office stuff. I replaced it with a new Dell
computer a month or so ago and today moved it to it's new home. Before I
removed it from the other guy's office, he took the "liberty" of
uninstalling/deleting "stuff he didn't think others needed." (Shudder).
Now, I have installed the new person's e-mail box, Vantage works, everything
seems fine

EXCEPT the new guy has different printer connections. When I click the add
a new printer icon, I get an error message that says:

Operation can not be completed, system is low on resources.

Closed everything, same thing. Rebooted; same thing. Logged in and out as
Administrator; same thing. Check task manager; nothing that shouldn't be
running is running...system resources say 92% free-there is almost 1gb free
space on the c:drive, the page file is on the d: drive.

I think maybe my "helpful" user uninstalled something he shouldn't have-no
big surprise, but is there any way to find out what it is without
re-installing the OS? Could I apply the OS service patch (6a) again and
hope that fixes it...I'm sure it must be some dang dll file...

Any network gurus out there ever seen this and fixed it?

Hep me, Hep me!!!

Thanks in advance.
