Try right-clicking the desktop ... Then click properties, you can access the
display properties that way ... Try the suggestions and see if you start bar
comes back ... If it doesn't, there's more things to try.

Also very good source for help on this issue, is http:/support.microsoft.com

I have a XP Question
First time I have attempted this - So be patient with me

I set up two new Administrator accounts on my XP Home machine
When I log on the system under those new accounts all I get is a background
image of a green field and blue sky
I never get any icons or a start menu

I have one administrator account that works fine
I created new users and gave them administrator privileges
Then logged off and tried to log on


What am I missing (AKA do I have to do something special to get all the
normal document settings\all users\desktop and startmenu activated?

Really strange

I have stayed away from Windows XP as long as I could but I finally have to
start learning it

Right Click on desktop and go to Properties, Select the Desktop tab, then select the "Customize Desktop" button. You will find your Icons there.

Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Display -> Desktop -> Customize
Desktop -- in Desktop Icons you can select which ones to show ...

Also if you step back, and in the Themes Tab, you can switch XP so it looks
just like Windows 2000, Select the Windows Classic look.

You can also select the Windows Classic Start Menu bar by clicking: Start ->
Settings -> Taskbar and Start Menu -> Start Menu -- the select the Classic
Start Menu.

Might make things easier for you.
