Panel Card Gantt Setup Help?

Hello!

I’m a bit new to Epicor in general, and I’ve been having difficulty setting up a gantt chart using the Panel Card Gantt in App Studio with data. I’ve tried populating it with a data view and using a Panel Card Gantt that was already setup in Job Scheduling with no luck. I’ve looked around EpicWeb and Google but no luck either.
Is there any documentation, tutorials, or tips anyone suggests that I might be missing?

Thank you!
Camryn

I refer you to this, unfortunately it’s just not really feasible to customize the Gantt charts that kinetic provides.

Welcome to EpiUsers Camryn–glad to have ya!

Gantt charts–oof. It’s been a few years since I looked at that component, but as I seem to recall, it had specialized BOs to get and display the data, so doing anything custom is going to be severely limited.
It’s possible that you could potentially create the datasets to display in a function with code, but I wouldn’t recommend going that route, especially for someone new to Epicor.

I seem to recall someone talking about them improving the ability to use custom data in the future, though. :safe_harbor:
@MikeGross is that true, or was that a fever dream?

What is it you’re trying to actually do? Are you just trying to replicate an Epicor one like the Resource Scheduling Board or are you trying to pull in custom data like we’re assuming?

Lol - good memory @hmwillett . Yep, i popped this question on you outta nowhere. I saw a tidbit in the 25.1 CR release notes about using external data. Heres the snippet

Thank you Hannah!

I’m trying to pull in custom data, and thank you that’s good to know! I have coding experience, but I’ll try to avoid the route you mentioned if I can.

I’ll have to play around with Gantt charts again after the next update. :slightly_smiling_face:

I don’t think this has ever been said to me in my life. I have a lot of qualities, but a good memory is not one of them.

I have a 25.1 environment installed. I’ll play with it and see if it got any easier.
What’s your data source?

My data source is a BAQ, and thank you!! Also please let me know if using a BAQ is not considered as pulling custom data, I’ll make sure to use the right language next time.

Don’t sell yourself short - you recalled this 1 minute ‘walking down the hallway’ conversation in the chaos of everything else that happened last week - I’d say we both get a little credit for it!
