What I have only displays reports in each PRL that are on the Vantage menu. Mike Podlin has one
that shows you what is in each PRL.

I just uploaded source code that I wrote a few years ago for such a
program.

Run it from an icon with command line such as...

X:\PROGRESS\bin\prowin32.exe -p X:\mfgsys61\ud\PRLView.w

Enter a directory path and name. Press tab or return. PRLs in
directory will be listed. Select PRL, and reports will be listed to
print or preview.

Have fun,
Lonnie

Lonnie,

Sorry for butting in on this one. Wondering if you knew...

is it possible to pass arguments to a report builder report via
progress. Such as customer name to be used in a filter?

Thanks

Yes, there are a couple of ways to change the output of a report
called with the RB engine.

One is to pass a parameter, another is to pass a filter.

I'll put together some examples and send them to you.

Lonnie

If not familiar with the RB engine, I would suggest downloading the
example I saved to the Files section.

To change a filter on the fly, change these two parameters to the RB
engine...

DEF VAR RB-INCLUDE-RECORDS AS CHARACTER INITIAL "O".
DEF VAR RB-FILTER AS CHARACTER INITIAL "".

Make sure RB-INCLUDE-RECORDS is set to letter "O".

RB-FILTER needs to contain the temporary filter for the report, such
as ....

rb-filter = "ActualSpec.CertDate = " + string(thecertdate) + " and
ActualSpec.printrec = yes".

It can be a little tricky getting the proper syntax in RB-FILTER.

****************************
To pass a parameter, you will need to use this parameter to the RB
engine...

DEF VAR RB-OTHER-PARAMETERS AS CHARACTER INITIAL "".

For example, to send a quantity to RB....

RB-Other-Parameters = "TheQty = " + STRING(NewQTy,"->>99999").

....will send the value as a text statement.

In the RB report itself, create a calculated field, named say
PassedQty, with value such as...

runtime-parameter("TheQty")

You can place the variable PassedQty anywhere in your report or in
another calculation.

Hope this helps,

Lonnie
