Production reporting Cost Variances

Run the WIP Inventory reconciliation report for just the suspense account.

 

Then check the part class on the parts that are going to suspense.

Yes, we have scrap, but not to the extent of $.30 per pc.  I don't mind a variance when it's true, i just can't explain this. 

all parts in the BOM have GL accounts attached, that's why when its going into a suspense account it's so puzzling. 

Unless the qty reported and the qty moved to inventory doesn't match, which has happened.  (I've noticed it allows you to move more than you've produced). But it doesn't add up.  boggling!

We see a variance on jobs that are average cost that we attribute to waste. Do you have waste on your jobs? In the end all the costs hit a bucket.

As far as I know if the Product Group & Part Group have a GL account they should not go to suspense so check that. I am not sure on that though... not my area of expertise.

We're scanning jobs using MES>Start Production>Report Qty>End Activity. Running 3 shifts per day.
Using Average cost, we're experiencing a variance in cost per piece of up to $.30 per piece, per shift. Not Always though. Some days it's almost perfect. I've sent into Epicor the Wip Reconciliation report; WIP report; Production Detail Report. I've been transferred from Production Dept. to Financial Dept. back to Prod.Dept..... If anyone has any suggestions as to why or what can cause this it'd be greatly appreciated.

ALSO:
On the Wip Reconciliation Report for the job, what causes a cost to hit the Suspense Account? Using the same reporting method mentioned above.
