Proper steps to Modify a Crystal report - Add a custom BAQ

Plamen - I'm pretty sure that Epicor broke something in 407 because I
experienced the same issue in 407A.

Forgot to mention I am in 8.0.3.407c.
I tried linking via both inner and left outer joins, and in both directions.

Anybody who played with Resource Data Definitions out there?

Hello,
I am trying to modify an existing Crystal system report to:
Add the results of a custom query (BAQ) that I created.
I have a just a custom BAQ just for the additional data.
I am looking for the proper procedures (and sequence).
Using Vantage 8.03.407C on Progress

You either need to modify the original report through a Custom Report Data Definition or create a new BAQ/Crystal Report. You can't add a custom BAQ to an existing crystal report.

If you have support there are some examples on-line that explain some of the customizations you can do to existing reports. Search for "report definition crystal".

I am probably missing a step above on the RDD ['foreign key' comes to mind not sure why or how].

Then I set my report to use the new RDD in Report Maintenance, preview it once to create the XML, so I can Set Datasource Location in Crystal, and so I can use the XML to pull the newly added table into the database fields.

I think I am missing a step in RDD because even the Company Field is blank if I try to Browse Data in Crystal. Also the newly added table does not have any Indexed Fields (Red arrow) in Database Expert.

If you are at or beyond that version, then the Foreign key is probably
your problem...make sure you linked the table correctly.
