Quote Engineering

We don’t use engineering in quoting right now, but we are working towards it. When I am in quote entry, and I add a new line, then go to line engineering, I can select the part rev, and pull details to get the operations and materials. I see this updated the worksheet tab to show the calculated unit costs. I thought there was a way to pull this calculated unit cost back into the quote. Right now we are just making a note of the calculated unit cost at the various price breaks, and then going back to the quote to type those in. I feel like I am missing something obvious.

After we get details on a line, how do we get those details into the quote without typing in the unit cost manually?

I think they made the Engineering screen separate in Kinetic so it was easier to restrict it to certain people (engineering, sales manager) - costs can be quite sensitive for some companies. So maybe they don’t want it automatically populating and exposing that to all CSRs.

Unfortunately I think a lot of those values are not saved to the DB so they are a bit of work to snipe, but it can be done. I think there is a BO you can call that will calculate and return them.

I just want to make sure I’m using it as designed before I try to build a workaround.

I think this is what i was looking for:

We kept getting confused because that field was disabled for us. I think it works well in new quotes.
