Ramifications to changing the number of decimal places on a UOM

We have a conversion between Meters and Feet (3.281 ft for 1 meter). When we enter 25 meters the system always calculates it to be 81.99 ft. It should be 82.02. Any other conversion works fine, just not 25 meters. Weird huh?

If I change the UOM decimal places to 4 (it is currently set to 2), it works fine. Still weird but ok. I am wondering what the ramifications would be if I were to change this?

My first thought is that this change would only apply to new transactions.
And I wouldn’t think there would be any impact related to your existing inventory.
