Here is the way we do this:
1) we have subcontractor verify qty upon recpt.
2) material supplier emails us pack list, certs, etc.
3) we receive material (p.o. will be buy direct to the job)

Subject: [Vantage] Raw materials delivered to subcontractor
We have a part where the first operation is a subcontracted operation, and our raw materials are being shipped directly from our supplier to the subcontractor. After they perform their operations, they are shipping the WIP part back to us where we complete our operations.
I was wondering what best practices you have in place to handle this scenario. For example, when the supplier delivers parts to the subcontractor, are you doing a receipt at that time into Epicor/Vantage? If so, do you have a warehouse/bin which is the subcontractor's location? Do you do subcontractor shipments? Etc.
Thanks for your feedback.
