Receipt Entry - from po and not P/S

HI,

first post here, thanks for your support.

We face a high ratio of employee leaving the receiving department, there’s a malaise with the tool. We’re told it’s too complicate and receiving take for ever. They don’t want to spend the day in front of the screen. Today I’ve decide to do the task by myself to test and feel. Oh my they are right.

Maybe we are not using the right APP, we use Receipt Entry. When the po is entered, it doesn’t show any “expected line” we are left to enter a Packing slip and then line by line adding the line from the po, with qty and date by line.

I can’t believe there isn’t another way. Our p/o have over 200 lines. Is there a way to Click a check box of the line from the po and then mass assign a receiving location and a date? Not line by line.

It feel upside down to go from the packing slip to the PO. A Packing slip will always deliver something from a p/o. No surprise expected. Why even allow it?

How to select from the po, the line received and mark them as received ?

Thanks

I’m 2 hours in on a single receiving.

Mass receipt?

Well I’ve tried it and got the following message :

It say no po release, while there’s a lot in the p/o.

I’m here to learn, so all the help is appreciated.

Are the parts serial tracked?

Hi Alisa,

not serial tracked, but each release goes to a specific Job.

Our P/O have many releases, but for the vendor it’s irrelevant, as each release is for the same part. The OA received and packing slip will only indicate in this case a delivered qty of 16x.

Currently I need to create in the Epicor Packing slip as many line (release) as I have in the po. Those lines are from the PO hence my question: why starting from a blank packing slip while all the expected are already on the po.

Are you in the right site?

You sure know how this work, you are 100% right.

The Mass receiving function is Site dependant and don’t work across site.

Thanks for the resolution and good lesson for me. Does it qualify as a code-18? I mean, an error 18" from the screen…

I’m already 94 line in, won’t stop until I’ve done 300.

One more thing I’m learning :

Take a look at two site both opening the same P/O.

The packing slip created at the wrong site (left) cannot be seen by the right site.

PO 173731 was made on the blue site, but wrongly received on the black site.

If you open the same po on different site they are the same, but the “table” for packing slip is different for each site.

I’m going to fix earlier error made with the wrong receiving APP Site, even if the receiving date, site, warehouse and bin stay the same.

Is it by design or configuration ?

Yes thats how it works . . .multi site can be a pain!
