Report Data Definition CustCnt

Hello Chris.

Just on top of my head, there might be multiple contacts for a single customer and even different primary ones (Shipping, Purch, BillTo).

I would link the newly added CustCnt table to InvcHead through Company, CustNum, ConNum (BillConNum in InvcHead, given that you HAVE a primary BillTo Customer Contact); you might be able to do it through OrderHed (instead of InvcHead) and link ConNum to ShpConNum.

I haven't tested it, but kind of remember these 2 things....hope it is not too vague.

Note: Believe it or not, I have fixed a similar Crystal "linkage" problem by removing the COMPANY link in the Relationships tab @ Report Data Definition level; not that this is the case, but could be.

Regards.

Hi All,

On the ARForm, I am trying to get the CustCnt fields to export as well when the
report is printed so we have more flexibility with names, email addresses etc.

We have done this for SOForm etc but I can't get it to work for ARForm.

This is what I have tried so far.

I have added the CustCnt table in to the copy of the ARForm Report Data Def.
Â
I have created a relationship between InvcHead and CustCnt (have also tried
Customer and CustCnt).
Â
I have added links of Company, CustNum (have also tried with ConNum as well).
Â
I have ran an invoice with this data definition in the report style.
Â
I have set my datasource location in Crystal.
Â
I have then gone into Database Expert and moved CustCnt to the right > OK.
Â
The CustCnt table in crystal is completely unlinked so it needs links adding.
I have then tried joining Customer.Company/CustNum/PrimBCon > CustCnt,
InvcHead.Company/CustNum/ContactName to CustCnt and even
InvcHead.Company/CustNum and Customer.ConNum to CustCnt.
Â
I have tried Inner Join and Left Outer Join.
Â
When I try to preview the report, I get an error saying 'Failed to retrieve data
from the database'. Followed by 'Database Connector Error: If tables are already
linked then the join type cannot change'.
Â
Then, even if I remove the links and the CustCnt table I get the same error so I
have to close my doc without saving changes.
Â
Â
We us Altec to manage out documents so the aim is to create formulas within
crystal to use a hierarchy system to check for the primary billto contact email.
if not available then check the fax. If not available then check the Companies
Email etc.
Â
So when we press print, the report will be intelligent enough to send to the
correct email address (preferred) or fax number.
Â
Â
How do you guys deal with sending emails/faxes automatically from Epicor as
usually the report definitions are lacking key contact details from the CustCnt
table (such as Prefix, FirstName, LastName etc).?
Â
Thanks.

When I've had similar type problems, I've turned off smart-linking when
you're in the database linking area.
