Sorry, no answers for you we have the same concern. Misery loves company.
Maybe a newer version of vantage behaves differently. What version are you on?
Sometimes we want to combine multiple requisitions/purchase suggestions for the same part into one PO line with multiple releases. But in the "real" world there are times when we do not want to do this. Example would be a.) if the price is going to change from one release date to another or b.) if we would like to have specific instructions for that particular release, such as "supplier Lot codes" for each shipment .....because vantage does not have release level pricing or release level comments we have these issues. It happens much more frequently than most would think.
Another issue is that vantage does not force a new line on a po for a requisition/purchase suggestion.
ONLY if that part # already exists on the po will it add a release to the line if you enter the po & line to the po suggestion before the "generate po" command is chosen. AND the PO must be unapproved.
We would support any enhancement activities in this matter.
