Is there any way or workaround to hold or reserve inventory for the job? We do not have the AMM license
Not any good ones. You could physically move the inventory to another area and then issue it to the job so it’s not available to MRP. 
As Mark says, nothing brilliant, we have done some work on reserving for projects, but it is only an updatable dashboard.
You could have a job and issue them to it, and return them when required.

Store it in a bin location that’s set as non-nettable? Or is that AMM-specific?
