Resource Scheduling Board Question

The tab with the graphical display (and job-op listing) is a 'black box' object unto itself and not modifiable without an SDK license.

Even if you fork over the dough for the SDK, any changes you make will not be supported by Epicor under your maintenance contract.

Also, any upgrade has I good chance of requiring you to rewrite your SDK customized object code.

He wants to see all cnc mills in the CNC Mill resource group at one time

on the Resource Scheduling Board. Which is exactly what he sees. But,

there is no indication there of which resource a particular job is

scheduled for without going to the detail tab. He wants to be able to

look at the timeline or the grid list to the left of the timeline and

see which cnc mill a job is on. For instance, right now I am looking at

Aug 26 on the timeline. I see there are four jobs scheduled to start at

approximately the same time. If I look at the grid list to the left I

see the Operation, Part, Customer ID, Operation Code, Setup Group, Start

Date, Days Late, and Locked. This is where he wants a column to display

the Resource ID. I'm trying to get him to buy into arranging his view

with the Detail tab displaying below the schedule so that when he clicks

on a job he can glance down and see all info on that job. But, he's

determined to have it the way he wants. I just need someone to tell me

if what he wants is doable or not.

First I would like to say that I have read all the comments about how
bad the resource scheduling board is. But, my boss is using it and
asking me to solve an issue he is having. So.... We have an issue with
the resource scheduling board where when looking at the schedule it
lumps all the resources in a resource group together. We want to be
able to see which resource a job is scheduled on without having to go
to the detail tab. For instance we have a group called CNC Mills with
nine resources. When looking at the schedule for this group you can't
tell which of those nine resources a particular job is scheduled for. I

against a brick wall. That grid doesn't seem to be customizable. Has
anyone else dealt with this problem and if so how did you solve it?
Instead of leaving the default radio button selecting by Resource
Group, change the radio button to Resource.

But as I read on...you appear to be speaking of the Job Scheduling
Board.

Maybe I am confused, but the Resource Scheduling Board is meant to give
you a view of all jobs/operations running on that resource for the time
period you choose. The Job Scheduling Board shows you each and every
opertion and what resources it is scheduled to run on. You didn't
mention the Multi-Resource Scheduling Board...so I won't go there.

Hope this helps.

Have you looked at the Multi-Resource Scheduling Board?

The MRSB allows you to select multiple resources. You can pull
resources that are not in the same group or in your case, you can
pull all resources in one group. Once displayed, I would recommend
using the user options and increase the Heigth so you can read the
Job/Asm/Opr.

Hope this helps...

Tell your boss to stop using tools that simply don't work.

I've found no way to modify what is displayed in the grid.

I uploaded a simple dashboard a few weeks ago they we use instead of the resource scheduling board. It is easily modified to suit your need for seeing resource detail within a resource group.

tried a customization to add the resource id to the grid but ran up

against a brick wall. That grid doesn't seem to be customizable. Has

anyone else dealt with this problem and if so how did you solve it?
